Hannah's Birthday Card...

Hi There....

Well, we woke up to a dark and dismal day here in Eastern Ontario...the weatherman is calling for rain all day...YUCK!!!!  I'm usually not too productive on days like this...it makes me want to curl up with a good book and shut the world out.  Impossible today though...must get out and VOTE!!!!  This country needs...change...and hopefully it will happen today!

Enough said...today I am listing a card I made for our DGD Hannah's 8th Birthday....oh my...where has the time gone????  It just flies by these days.

The card was made using a sweet digital kit that I purchased from www.nitwitcollections.com.  They have the most adorable kits on that site...I know I'll be purchasing more!!!

I've printed all of the papers used here except for the card stock.  The images have been cut and layered with dimensionals for a 3-D effect.  I've used Spellbinders for the plain and scalloped circles.  Magnolia dies have been used for the scalloped lace border, lacy dragonflies and the message tag (which is on the inside of the card).

Here you can see the inside of the card.  The tag is hidden in a little pocket in the centre section.  There is a ribbon to make it easier to take out.  This is where we added our personal message to Hannah.  As you can tell I've added lots of faux stitching and I've edged the card and dragonflies using Distress ink.  I've also used Stickles and Glossy Accents for some extra bling!

This is the card in it's folded position for display.  As I've mentioned these kits are so cute...perfect for folks like myself who are...scissor happy...LOL!  I just love to cut paper!!!!

I've also made a custom envelope for the card.  It has extra depth so that cards with dimension can fit into it without causing any harm to the embellishments.  I've added a Basic Grey magnet to the back of the envelope...this makes it so much easier for "little hands" to open the card...our DGD was really enthralled by the magnet...who knew!!!!

Well folks...I'll close for now...

Take care and thanks so much for dropping by...

Hugs,
Lyn

  2. This is absolutely amazing. I didn't realize it had an inside page, too. And the card is just delicious! Now one more question...can you post this in the mail? Here in the States they would reject it unless you paid extra postage for the lumps! I am going to have to check these kits out, even though I 've never done digi!

    1. Hi Martie,
Thank you for your lovely comment. As you may have noticed I have not added anything to my blog for a very long time. I've been recovering from an accident that caused me to have a partial arm replacement. I seem to be getting my mojo back lately...so I'm hoping to be more active with my blog...
      Hugs,
      Lyn
