Fairy Dance Layout...

Hi There...

Today I would like to share a  layout with you.  This was made for the "Bog Hop" over at "Let's Scrap" http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/ .
I've used a beautiful new line of papers by "Graphic 45".  The line is called "Once Upon A Springtime".  The colours are just so stunning IRL.  The online photo doesn't do the papers justice.

The photos are of our Granddaughter Maya at her dance recital in 2008.  She looked just like a fairy princess that day.  We were all so proud of her.  She gave a flawless performance....amazing for a five year old.

I've used faux stitching, distress inks, stickles, dimensionals and the zutter distress tool for the paper edges.  I will be adding journaling to the RH side of the layout at a later date.  I want to be certain to get all of the particulars correct before doing so.

Well....I hope you like the layout and thanks for stopping by...

Hugs,
Lyn

Floral Explosion Box...

Good morning all...

I hope everyone is having a great start to their day...It's very dreary here and we had a snowfall overnight in the Ottawa region.  There's just enough snow to make driving a little treacherous today...so take care.

Today I will be showing you a little explosion box I made awhile back.  I filled it with photos of our little cuties.  I hope you like it...

The following photo is one of the box when it's closed.  I really enjoyed doing this box...I don't know why I haven't made anymore...hmmm...perhaps I'll try a few more.

This was made with an assortment of papers that were left overs...but they co-ordinated well.  The same thing with the flowers and embellishments.  I've used embossing folders for around the edge of the box lid.  I then hand cut the scalloping just to add a little more pizazz.

Well until next time...take care...

Hugs,
Lyn

Cards for my Cuties....

Hi There...

Today I thought I would post a couple of cards that I made for two of my little cuties when they were in their "Littlest Pet Shop" phase.  These have been layered using paper tole techniques.  I've used glossy accents on the eyes and nose.  I was quite pleased with the way they turned out.  My granddaughter liked the tiny earrings on the little monkey.   The actual images were taken from pictures that I found on line.  I enlarged them and made five copies for each one...printed on white card stock.  That way there would be sufficient pieces for layering.

This little fellow has had the same technique applied to him...no earrings though... LOL!  I do hope you are able to see the depth on each of these cards.  It's really quite noticeable in real life.  Well I'm off to try and work on another layout today.

Have a wonderful day....I look forward to hearing from you.

Hugs,
Lyn

Family Traditions...

Well I'm back....
I managed to take a somewhat decent photo of my recent layout for the "Lets Scrap" blog hop.

It's a little washed out...the colours are more deep and rich in real life.  I've use the stunning Christmas line from "Bo Bunny" titled NOEL.  It's from 2010.
I've layered the upper left hand side of the page with three additional layers of detail.  The berries, swirls on the ornaments and the pine cones all have "glossy accents" applied to them.  The pine cones also have a light dusting of extra fine "glitter".  I've also used a large circle of clear rhinestones which have been coloured using a "Copic" marker....Gotta love those copics!!!  The family traditions tag has been mounted on dimensional's for added depth to balance the other details.  The date looks muted...but is actually quite noticeable IRL.  It is a brushed gold colour with a mat finish...so it suits the vintage feel of the layout.

Thanks for dropping by....

Safari Theme....

Hi again,
As promised I'm back with another card.  This masculine themed card was made for our son's birthday.  I don't know if all of the textures will show up properly...but there is quite a bit of fine detailing on this one.
I've embossed using powders and with the Cuttlebug, sponged on glossy card stock, used a Stampin' Up wheel, image stamp and background stamp.  I've added black twine and copper brads to this one.

Now I'm off to try and take that photo of my layout...Thanks for dropping by...Your comments are greatly appreciated....

Hugs, Lyn
Hi There...

Today I would like to share a card that I made for our daughter for her birthday awhile back.
Christine is always so fashion savvy...I thought a little something along those lines would be appropriate.

This card was done with "Stampin' Up" products.  The images and text were embossed in black, including the houndstooth pattern on the background.  The lips and the shoe were coloured in with red and then I used glossy accents to add some depth.  The basic card stock colours were black, white, red & grey.
A Basic Grey magnet is used to hold the card together when closed.
I will try to post another card and then I am off to try and take a decent photo of my latest layout for the "Let's Scrap" blog hop.  Until next time...

Tiny Ballerina...

Hi There...
I've decided that I should post a few cards today...just to get my blog up and running.  This card was made for one of our granddaughters for her first ballet recital.  I try to make the grandchildren a special card when they have something memorable going on in their lives.

The supplies used are as follows:  Stamps - "Magnolia" the little ballerina and the frame she is sitting on.
The patterned paper is by "Graphic 45"...I just love their papers!!!  The card stock is "Bazzil".  The pearls are by "Kaiser Craft" and the embellishments were cut from bazzil card stock using my "Cuttlebug" and one of their 2"x6" die templates.  I must not forget the "Spellbinders" dies.  I don't know what I would do without my "Cuttlebug" and my "Spellbinders".  They are a "MUST HAVE" for me!

I would love to hear from you....

Hugs,
Linda

Up, Up & Away....

Hi There...

The above card is one that I made for our son Paul's 40th birthday.  The movie "UP" had just come out...so I thought that the balloon theme would be kind of fun.

The balloons were each made one at at time and each one had gold thread attached to it.  It was a little bit of a challenge trying to figure out the placement so that they would balance when being tied to the numbers.  It finally came together...and our son was quite pleased with it.

I used assorted "Stampin' Up" coloured card stock.  I made a cloud template out of scrap card stock and sponged the cloud background randomly to achieve the above look.  My trusty Cricut machine was used for the numbers and balloons.  The card size is 5"x7".  It's a little larger than I usually like to make...but with.. ALL.. of those balloons...it was necessary (lol)!

Hugs,
Linda
