Days Gone By...

Hi There...

Today I would like to share with you a layout I completed for the "Let's Scrap" Blog Hop http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/   You should drop by the site and look at all of the wonderful layouts that the members have created.  There is still plenty of time to participate as it doesn't end until February 14th.

This is a layout featuring a photo of my Grandparents and their sons.  My Father on the right and his younger brother.  I love looking at the old photos...this one in particular as all of these family members are now gone.

I've used a lovely line of papers from Sweden.  They are from the "Magnolia" company.  This company also makes beautiful stamps.  The colours are soft Indigo blues and creamy yellows.  The background paper has a lovely silver sheen to it.  They show up much richer when seen IRL.  The blue flowers are "Prima" and the yellow/blue rose is "Wild Orchid Crafts".  The lettering is done with the Cricut and "Storybook" cartridge.  I've also used "Martha Stewart" punches and added faux stitching.  The pearls are by "Kaiser".

I hope you've enjoyed seeing this layout.  Thanks for dropping by...

Hugs,
Lyn

  1. Another beautiful page Linda. I just love heritage pages and you've such a great job with this one. It always amazes me when you do your faux stitching because it always looks like you used a machine. The papers you used are gorgeous, perfect colors for a vintage layout.

  2. Thanks for your lovely comments Betty Anne. These papers were originally meant for a wedding layout. I liked using them with the black/white vintage photos better.

I wish you all the best with your blog. My blog's name is Crafti and my name is Rachelle. I noticed that you used Kavita, instead of using my correct name "Crafti". Someone else also did that, was my name listed as Kavita? I like to correct that if that's the case. Nice meeting you.

  5. Thanks Rachelle. I appreciate you joining my blog. I've corrected the side bar and your blog title is now listed as "Crafti". Sorry about the error. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely layouts on "Let's Scrap". How do we go about becoming "friends" on the site?
    Hugs,
